Gently uncovering what your baby needs to grow strong.

Don’t Just Wait and See, Know What to Look For
Is your child’s development on track? From first steps to first words, key milestones offer early clues about how your child is growing. At Joyful Seeds Paediatrics in Bukit Timah, our Milestone Screening service helps you understand what’s typical, what might need extra support, and what comes next, with clear answers and trusted guidance from experienced paediatricians.
What Is Milestone Screening?
Milestone Screening tracks your child’s development in real time, across how they move, speak, play, and connect. These regular check-ins offer a clear picture of their progress and flag areas that might benefit from early support.
At Joyful Seeds, we take time to explain what we’re looking for and what it means. No medical jargon. No rushed conclusions. Just the information you need to support your child with confidence.
What’s Included?

Each screening is tailored to your child’s age, needs, and developmental stage. It may include:
Full Physical Review
A head-to-toe check of your child’s overall health and physical development.
Height and Weight Tracking
Monitoring growth over time to catch trends that need closer attention.
Vision and Hearing Checks
Picking up issues early, before they affect learning or social confidence.
Developmental Observation
Reviewing movement, speech, play, and daily functioning using age-appropriate tools.
Screening for Conditions
When needed, we assess for signs of developmental conditions such as autism, ADHD or learning challenges, with care, clarity, and clinical accuracy.
Every step comes with explanation and support. We don’t just tick boxes, we help you understand what the results mean and what to do next.
Guided by Trusted Paediatricians

At Joyful Seeds, your child’s screening is led by Dr Charmaine Teo and Dr Martha Liu, both experienced paediatricians with a deep understanding of developmental care.
They’ve supported families through every kind of question, from “Is this normal?” to “What do we do now?” With backgrounds in both hospital and community care, they know when to reassure, when to act, and how to create the right plan for your child.
This isn’t a box-ticking exercise. It’s a meaningful conversation about your child’s development , led by doctors who listen, explain, and guide with calm confidence.
Why Early Screening Matters
Spot Delays Early
Identifies delays in speech, motor skills, or social interaction before they affect daily life. Catching these early allows for timely referrals to speech therapists, occupational therapists, or developmental specialists.
Understand Behaviours Better
Clarifies whether behaviours are part of typical development or signs of a deeper issue. What looks like shyness or clumsiness may point to sensory processing or communication challenges.
Track Progress Over Time
Early screenings create a clear developmental picture to compare against in future check-ups or if concerns arise.
Get the Right Support Sooner
Whether it’s early intervention, therapy, or educational planning, timely screening gets you on the right path without delay.
Build a Stronger Care Partnership
Regular check-ins ensure you're not left guessing, and you’ll know who to turn to if something changes.

Whether it’s a routine check-in or a deeper look into your child’s development, they combine medical experience with a calm, practical approach, helping you make sense of what’s typical, what needs support, and what comes next.

When should my child be screened?
Screenings are recommended at 9, 18, and 30 months, or anytime there are concerns about your child’s development.
What if my child does not meet certain milestones?
