On a bright Saturday morning at Singapore Expo, families gathered for a thoughtful session on one of the earliest milestones in parenting, introducing solids. Among the speakers at the event was Dr Charmaine Teo, Consultant Paediatrician at Joyful Seeds Paediatric and Developmental Clinic, who brought warmth, reassurance and practical insights to the Mummys Market Weaning Workshop.

Joyful Seeds Paediatric and Developmental Clinic , located in Bukit Timah, is known for supporting families across Singapore through each stage of childhood. With a focus on general paediatrics as well as developmental and behavioural care, the clinic offers a calm and supportive environment where children grow and parents feel guided.

The weaning workshop at Mummys Market brought together a team of caring professionals who shared practical and reassuring advice with families.

Dr Charmaine Teo from Joyful Seeds Paediatric and Developmental Clinic spoke about recognising when babies are ready to start solids. She explained the importance of iron-rich foods, guided parents through feeding approaches like baby-led weaning, and addressed common concerns around allergens and choking.

Alongside her, Dr Lisa Lim, a Paediatric Feeding and Speech-Language Pathologist, offered strategies to support mealtime readiness and enjoyment. Dr Amanda Lim, a Paediatric Dentist, shared early oral care tips for feeding infants. Dr Vinod A Devathas from the Singapore Red Cross Academy gave practical safety guidance on choking prevention and first response.

Together, they created a warm and informative space for parents to feel prepared, supported, and confident as they begin this important new chapter.

Continuing the Conversation After the Workshop

Families who attended the weaning workshop left with more than just notes, they left with confidence, clarity, and the knowledge that support is always available. For parents who were not able to attend, or those looking for further guidance, consultations at Joyful Seeds are available for feeding concerns, growth tracking, and developmental needs.

At every visit, the clinic provides a calm space where families are heard and supported. The team welcomes both local and international families seeking paediatric care in Singapore.
